Kalika Tours and Travels ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you enquire or book with us, why we need it, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law.
1. What we collect
- Your name and mobile number, and an email address if you give one.
- Trip details: pickup and drop locations, dates, number of passengers and any special requests (for example a front seat for a passenger who is pregnant or unwell).
- Booking and payment records: booking ID, seats, amount, payment method and the payment or UPI reference number. We never collect your UPI PIN, OTP, card number or bank password.
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email.
- Basic technical information our website host records for security, such as IP address and browser type.
2. Why we use it
- To give you a quote, confirm your booking and send your ticket.
- To verify your mobile number, so tickets and trip updates reach the right person.
- To tell you about changes to your trip, such as a delay or a seat change.
- To process payments and refunds, and to keep accounts as the law requires.
- To answer your questions and complaints, and to keep our services safe.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.
3. Who we share it with
- The driver and conductor of your trip, who see the passenger name and seat (and mobile number where needed to reach you).
- Payment partners that process online payments and refunds, under their own security and privacy obligations.
- WhatsApp (Meta), which delivers our verification messages, tickets and trip updates.
- Our technology providers that host this website and our booking records in India-region data centres.
- Government or law enforcement authorities, when the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as tax and accounting laws require (generally up to 8 years). Unfinished bookings and verification codes are deleted automatically within a few days. Other enquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to help you.
5. How we protect it
Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Booking records are stored with access limited to our staff who need them. Staff sign in with individual accounts.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent for messages, by contacting us below. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Children
Bookings must be made by an adult. We collect a child's details only when an adult travelling with them provides them for the booking.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
